Gorey Cinema

Construction of Gorey Cinema Underway

As of October 2009, work has been underway on a new state-of-the-art cinema just outside of Gorey at Raheenagurreen East (on the Courtown Road, opposite Marlfield House). It will be the first cinema to operate in Gorey for more than three decades.

The multi-million euro project, spearheaded by local businesman Phil Brennan, in association with the Spurling Cinema Group, who own the cinema in Enniscorthy, is due for completion in June 2010.

The 7-screen multiplex will have 1,200 seats, all on ground level, facilitating wheel-chair users. Access to the facility itself won't be a problem either, as it will also feature over 200 free car-parking spaces, as well as taxi and bus lay-bys.

The cinema, which will also be equipped to play 3-D films, will feature every major movie release, as well as live broadcasts including opera, ballet and concerts. Additionally, it will show major sporting events such as the Olympic games, and even the American Superbowl!

Gorey Cinema Times

This website will begin displaying movie schedules for the new Gorey cinema when it opens. In the meanwhile, however, visit Wexford Cinema to see what's on in the other cinemas in, and around, the county (including Arklow).
