Gorey Cinema
About Gorey Cinema
In mid-2010, work was completed on a new state-of-the-art cinema just outside of Gorey at
Raheenagurreen East (on the Courtown Road, opposite Marlfield House). It is the first cinema to operate in Gorey
for more than three decades. The multi-million euro project was spearheaded by local businesman Phil Brennan,
in association with the Spurling Cinema Group, who also own the cinema in nearby Enniscorthy.
The 7-screen multiplex has have 1,200 seats, all on ground level, facilitating wheel-chair
users. Access to the facility itself isn't a problem either, as it also features over 200 free car-parking
spaces, as well as taxi and bus lay-bys.
The cinema, which is equipped to play 3-D films, features every major movie release,
as well as live broadcasts including opera, ballet and concerts. Additionally, it even show major sporting
events such as the Olympic games, and even the American Superbowl!
